"For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Allison. I was an Engineering Summer Student at Tulloch Engineering working out of the Huntsville Engineering Office. I started my summer working on hydrology reports for different culverts around the Huntsville area. These and other reports allowed me to gain onsite experience and then learn how to take this field information back to the office to use in calculations and reports. After spending a month or so in the office, I was sent to different job sites around Ontario, such as a stream reconstruction/rehabilitation project on Manitoulin Island and monitoring brook trout spawning beds in Wawa.
As an engineering student, it was very rewarding to see all the work that goes into different projects as well as all of the different steps involved in a project. In addition, I spent time in Barrie surveying Highway 400. During this job, I was able to learn how to use various surveying tools and techniques, then follow them back into the office where I learned how to transfer and organize the data into AUTOCAD. This summer was extremely rewarding for me and now being back at school, I miss the Tulloch environment. Thank you for an amazing summer."
