Little Long Erosion And Sediment Control Plan

GLES was retained Dickson Management Services/Kiewit Construction to prepare an erosion and sediment control plan in support of the installation of a cofferdam required to install a new hydroelectric generating facility at the Little Long site on the Lower Mattagami River.

The Lower Mattagami Hydroelectric Complex is made up of four generating stations on the Mattagami River (Little Long, Smoky Falls, Harmon, and Kipling) which are located about 70km northeast of Kapuskasing. The project is being constructed by KAP (Kiewit-Alarie Partnership) and will add nearly 450 MW of capacity to the system. The project will take at least four years to complete with a peak work force of about 600 people and an estimated overall cost of about $2.5 billion.
