OTTAWA, ON, June 14, 2011 - The management team at Tulloch Engineering is very excited to announce the launch of Tulloch Mapping Solutions. Terrestrial LiDAR mobile mapping is an emerging market and we believe there is a significant opportunity in Ontario and Canada to become a market leader in providing land-based mobile mapping services. Tulloch Mapping Solutions will be offer high-accuracy mapping services to both the public and private sector clients in the transportation, mining, municipal, and utility industries. It’s our mission to be the leading provider of high accuracy terrestrial LiDAR data and associated added value deliverables in Canada. To achieve this mission, we have hired two key employees. James Ferguson, OLS, will be the Senior Director and Tim Blak, SP, GS will be the General Manager of TMS.
James has over 30 years of domestic and international experience in the survey and mapping industry, holds a degree in Survey Science from the University of Toronto, and is a registered professional surveyor. He has been involved in the development and deployment of leading edge survey technology since entering the profession, including 15 years of experience in the LiDAR domain. James was a partner in the firm GEOsurv Inc., and co-founder of Terrapoint, and its’ predecessor Mosaic Mapping Systems. He has held progressively senior executive positions throughout his career, including most recently as President and CEO of Ambercore Software Inc.
Tim has over 24 years in the geospatial industry with the last 15 years concentrating on elevation technologies specializing in Airborne LiDAR and IFSAR. He is a licensed Survey Photogrammetrist in the state of Virginia and a licensed Geodesist in the state of South Carolina. He is also a graduate of Algonquin College Geographical Information Systems Technologist program.
Tim has spent the last ten years in Fairfax VA, as the Director of Elevation Technologies and a Senior Project Manager of Geodesy and Remote Sensing for Dewberry, a large A&E Firm. He has positioned Dewberry as one of the leading LiDAR firms in the United States and is considered by his peers of the remote sensing industry as one of the top LiDAR experts. He is active in the American Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing and is chairperson of the ASPRS Airborne LiDAR committee.
Tulloch Mapping Solutions will operate out of the Ottawa area. Tulloch Engineering staff are excited about this hiring announcement and look forward to working alongside this very talented and successful team.
