Hwy 69 Four-lane Construction

In 2007, the Ministry of Transportation required a wide range of professional support services to facilitate the planning, design, and construction of a 27 km section of new four-lane highway in Northern Ontario.

Tulloch was involved with the very first stage of the project, surveying the centre line profile of the proposed four-lane highway. Our knowledgable staff of Ontario Land Surveyors conducted boundary surveys for land acquisition purposes and established the limits of the highway corridor. Tulloch contract administration staff managed the construction contracts for three of the four construction projects that made up the 27km project between MacTier and Horseshoe Lake, just south of Parry Sound. Combined, the work encompassed more than 3 million cubic metres of rock excavation and 12 new structures. Great Lakes Environmental Services, a subsidiary of Tulloch, conducted environmental inspections, prepared monitoring reports, and managed environmental consultations and fish recovery operations. Tulloch successfully collaborated with the Ministry of Transportation to provide a full range of integrated consulting services. The new highway was opened in 2004 providing a safer facility for the travelling public.
