Thessalon Dawson Street Extension

In 2007, The town of Thessalon required professional consultation to assess the feasibility of extending sewer and watermain services along Dawson street to an un-serviced commercial subdivision.  The terrain included high bedrock outcrops.

Retained by the town of Thessalon, our staff of deeply knowledgable and experienced engineers completed the feasibility study and successfully assisted Thessalon in applying for funding for the construction of the project.  Combing geomatics and civil design expertise, our talented engineering staff completed a detailed design of all required civil and earth works. The un-serviced area of town included a campground, five residential homes and a 50-unit motel and restaurant, as well as commercially zoned vacant land fronting on Hwy 17 East.  The project included 1500m of watermain and sanitary sewer, as well as 600m of street extension, much of which required rock excavation.  Contract administration services were provided during construction to ensure the ongoing success of the project. There is now safe and sustainable drinking water and sanitary sewer services available to residences and existing and future businesses in this area of Thessalon. The project was completed on time and to budgetary constraints.
