We are currently looking for Civil Construction Technicians to join our team. The successful candidates will provide civil engineering and survey support on mining projects and be required to work a client driven rotation.

 

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a college diploma from a Civil Engineering, Mining Technician, or Survey Technician program or minimum 5 years surveying experience / civil construction experience

  • Full Basic Underground Common Core would be considered an asset

  • Have an extreme work ethic with a good attitude

  • Be excited to be part of a team that not only enjoys working together but enjoys the camaraderie after work at camp

  • Be physically fit and have a willingness to work outside in all weather conditions

  • Have an aptitude towards computers and technology. Proficiency with mine engineering programs such as Mine Cad Software, AutoCAD, Total Station, and MOSS would be considered an asset

  • Have an understanding of civil engineering and construction principles

  • Have a demonstrated commitment to occupational health and safety

  • Have a valid Ontario Driver’s License; and, willingness to travel

 

Job Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Materials testing including executing on-site tests, soil sampling and collecting data

  • Laboratory Testing of soils, and concrete in strict accordance with the applicable Canadian Standard Association (CSA), including documentation and reporting

  • Civil construction inspection including QC & QA monitoring to confirm compliance with approved drawings and contract specifications

  • Providing recommendations to the contractor on how to best reach the applicable Ontario Provincial Standard Specification (OPSS) standards as well as the contract specifications

  • UAV surveys

  • Material quantity control
