Our geomatics team at TULLOCH offers services to private and government sector clients across Canada.  We often find ourselves working in locations that offer logistical challenges, but also impressive opportunities for success and learning.  We provide a full range of traditional surveying services as well as construction monitoring, precision layout, and high-definition 3D laser scanning.   We are innovative in our approach and whenever possible utilize emerging technologies to improve both the efficiency and quality of deliverables to our clients.

We are currently looking for a full time Survey Crew Chief to join our growing Edmonton team. This is a permanent, full- time position to begin as soon as a successful candidate is found.
 

Working under the supervision of a Project Manager, the primary responsibilities will include:
 

  • Assessment of field and documentary evidence to perform cadastral surveys including Surveyors Real Property Reports, Right of Way plans, Condominium Surveys and Plans of Subdivision.

  • Performing pre-engineering, topographic surveys while overseeing field activities.

  • Construction layout for residential and commercial developments, renewable energy as well as Transportation infrastructure projects.

  • Performing deformation monitoring surveys for the detection of displacement related to site and/or linear project development.

  • Collecting field data using various survey instruments and GPS field equipment while overseeing QC of data collection ensuring that field notes and daily downloads are complete.

  • Collecting of terrestrial and mobile mapping data or aptitude and willingness to learn.

  • Line locating of buried utilities within an Oil and Gas site or in a greenfield environment.

  • On occasion, supporting TULLOCH Engineering division, performing non-survey related construction management, civil and structural engineering tasks under the direction of the project engineer.
     

Preferred Qualifications:
 

  • Completion of a two (2) year college program in geomatics or engineering technology or equivalent preferred.

  • Preferred candidate will have a minimum five (5) years practical related experience.

  • Knowledge of Alberta survey evidence assessment, Act, Standards and Regulations as they relate to performing cadastral surveys.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Unwavering commitment to environmental health and safety in the workplace.

  • Proficient in the operation of ATVs/UTVs/Snowmobiles and,

  • Willing to travel for site inspections and field work.

  • Valid Driver’s License.
