Our geomatics team at TULLOCH offers services to private and government sector clients across Canada.  We often find ourselves working in locations that offer logistical challenges, but also impressive opportunities for success and learning.  We provide a full range of traditional surveying services as well as construction monitoring, precision layout, and high-definition 3D laser scanning.   We are innovative in our approach and whenever possible utilize emerging technologies to improve both the efficiency and quality of deliverables to our clients.


We are currently looking to fill a lead role in the local drafting/production group. This is a permanent, full-time position to begin as soon as a successful candidate is found. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • As a supervisor, you are responsible for the overall management of the drafting team, including time and expenses approval and overall performance management. 

  • Coordination between team members, drafting/calculations, and overall problem solving . 

  • Undertake project work and effectively deploy work to your team and support them to ensure client deadlines are met or exceeded. 

  • Further develop capacity in our drafting/checking/production group in Calgary to support both municipal and renewables/infrastructure markets. 

  • Support some drafting projects from other TULLOCH offices or areas of discipline, including but not limited to structural, engineering and design, mobile mapping, and monitoring projects.

  • Participation in recruiting/interviewing potential candidates

  • Assist Project Managers in all aspects of project delivery

  • Processing field data and computer-generated survey information

  • Formulating preliminary and detailed designs and drawings for various engineering and planning projects (structures, installations and construction projects such as highways)

  • Ensuring plans are in compliance with standards and drafting requirements

  • Preparing pre-engineering, topographic and cadastral plans

  • Assist with developing and managing TULLOCH drafting templates, layers, and standards

 

Qualifications:
 

  • Completion of a two (2) year college program in geomatics or engineering technology or equivalent preferred

  • Preferred candidate will have a minimum five (5) years practical related experience, 2 of which at a supervisory level

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Proficient in the use of analytical and design software including AutoCad and Civil 3D

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Valid Alberta Driver’s License

  • Willing to travel for site inspections and field work
