We are currently looking for a Planning Clerk to join our team in our Hamilton office. This is a permanent full-time position to begin as soon as the successful candidate is found.


Job Responsibilities

  • Provide general administrative and clerical support to the A.J. Clarke Planning team

  • Drafting, editing, proof reading; memos, letters, emails, reports, fee proposals and other documentation as required

  • Provide project management support as needed

  • Maintain electronic and paper filing systems

  • Schedule and co-ordinate meetings

  • Familiar with web searching and extracting relevant information as required

  • Preparation of basic financial reporting information for Senior Management

  • Management of file tracking systems and coordination with Planners and other Departments

  • Perform other duties as needed



  • Post-secondary studies in administrative / clerical services is considered an asset

  • Two years’ administrative experience required. Administrative experience with planning, municipal and/or legal documents is an asset

  • Sound judgement, strong organizational skills, administrative, observational, and problem-solving skills a must

  • Ability to communicate with other professionals and to follow up with them to obtain the required information

  • Ability to work in a team environment, working collaboratively towards shared deadlines and goals
