We are currently looking for a full-time Payroll Clerk to join our team.  This is a permanent full-time position to begin as soon as a successful candidate is found.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Process timesheets and expense reports on a weekly basis ensuring accuracy

  • Calculate overtime, stat holiday pay and taxable benefits

  • Provide confidential, courteous, and professional service while ensuring employee inquiries, problems and issues are resolved

  • Reconcile receipts to expense submissions

  • Liaise with supervisors to ensure accurate posting of time and expenses

  • Prepare and post entries to PayWorks on a bi-weekly basis for payroll processing

  • Verify payroll entries for accounting purposes

  • Process various payroll related items including employment verification letters, ROE’s, employee change requests etc.

  • Retention of payroll records such as EHT, WSIB, etc., as assigned

  • Maintain employee database

  • Train new employees in time entry software

  • Work collaboratively with Accounting and Human Resources

  • Other administrative duties related to the filing, maintenance and retention of payroll records as assigned

 

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Previous payroll experience

  • Previous experience using PayWorks or BST would be an asset

  • Knowledge of payroll legislation

  • Proficiency with MS Office 365

  • Excellent communication skills

  • The successful candidate will be highly organized and detail oriented with an ability to meet deadlines

  • The individual must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as be flexible with job assignments within accounting and administration
