Our Mapping division is seeking a LiDAR Analyst Summer Student to provide support to Project Managers in our Mapping group. Projects will include, among others; municipal engineering, MTO engineering and design, and railway engineering projects.


Key Responsibilities:

Assist in various aspects of LiDAR processing and data production, as follows:

  • Complete feature extraction on mobile and airborne LiDAR data.

  • Combine conventional survey data with LiDAR data.

  • Ability to understand CAD Standards.

  • As required assist Operations, Project Managers, and LiDAR Analyst II in all aspects of project planning and delivery.

  • As required assist Operations Managers in project pre-planning.

  • With direction process LiDAR data for calibration or classification.


Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge:

  • Enrolment in a relevant field of study

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks at once in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience with Connect and InRoads

  • Knowledge of TopoDOT and TerraScan.

  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D

  • Experience working in the field of mapping or engineering design would be considered an asset.

  • Knowledge of LiDAR data and processing methods

  • Experience of DTM creation in CAD  3D environment

  • Knowledge of industry accepted design/CAD standards for survey, mapping and engineering

  • Valid Ontario G driver’s license
