We are currently looking for a Title Searcher to join our team. This is a permanent full-time position to begin as soon as a successful candidate is found.


The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in the legal or survey industry.

  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to handle fast paced, detailed oriented and deadline driven work.

  • Attention to detail and office procedures.

  • Willingness to learn and ability to adapt quickly.

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

  • Knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word.

  • Good written and oral communication.


Job Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Assist Project Managers by acting as a liaison with MGCS (LRO staff), Teraview staff and ONL staff.

  • Perform on-line searches using Teraview software and or Web-based Geowarehouse.

  • Search Parcel and Abstract books using ONLand, Explore PSRI, Protect Your Boundaries and LSR for additional survey information.

  • Acquire maps or drawings delineating property (GIS sites, Make a Topo.MapVu, First Base Solutions).

  • Produce Search Sketch & Report for all searches.

  • Compile all search information into field file for the Project Manager.

  • Contact other Surveyor offices to obtain survey information.

  • Email provincial/public and private agencies to obtain survey information (Survey Records, local MNR, CN/CP, Bell, MTO and Infrastructure Ontario).

  • Prepare Appendix and submit draft plan for pre-approval.

  • Keep detailed spreadsheets.
